The singer and star of the recent movie Burlesque last made a Super Bowl appearance during 2000 halftime show. She’ll join the ranks of Carrie Underwood, Neil Diamond, Mariah Carey and Beyonce, all of whom have sung the anthem in years passed.

Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas, will play host to the Super Bowl, where the Green Bay Packers face the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Black Eyed Peas will be the halftime show entertainment.

On Sept. 25, Aguilera has volunteered to perform an opening celebration as part of the museum’s grand opening of the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Pavilion, which has been described by the LACMA as “the largest purpose-built, naturally lit, open-plan museum space in the world,” according to pollstar.com.

The 45,000 sq. ft. building was designed by Renzo Piano as a single story glass and stone structure that will be used to house special exhibitions. The addition has been named after Lynda and Stewart Resnick because of their hefty donation of $45 million to the museum.

The event is open to the public, but individual tickets can run between $5,000-$10,000. Don’t have that kind of money? No worries. Christina Aguilera tickets are available for Oct. 23 at the Aladdin Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. It’s her only other scheduled performance in 2010, because she’s busy working on her film, Burlesque.

Starring alongside Christina is, you guessed it, Cher!  Cher plays the role of the veteran performer who is skeptical of Christina’s ability to make it.

Christina tells MTV, “It’s sexy, it’s sensual.  The whole idea of burlesque has always intrigue me.  The art of the tease, the dance, beautiful women, need I say more?”

The film is scheduled to hit movie theaters, this Thanksgiving, November 24, 2010.  Until then, check out the trailer for yourself.

The only downside, the radio station cycles through other artists as well.  So sit back, relax and keep the music at an ambient setting.  You never know when your speakers will be flooded with Christina’s amazing voice singing the new tunes.

Aquilera, who took a few years off from singing after giving birth to son Max, picked a role in “Burlesque” as her first – she will play a small-town girl who moves to Los Angeles and takes a job in a burlesque club.

The singer will be sharing the screen with another diva – Cher.  In fact, Aguilera has said that working with the legendary artist is in large part why she took the role. 

The flick, which began filming in late 2009, should be in theaters later this year.
